Our shirts from Alexander West arrived in the mail today. Curious to see what the difference was with a bespoke shirt, we were delighted to open a beautifully packaged shirt and try it on.
The result: perfection. The shirts fit beautifully — truly, it’s shocking how much one is missing out without a bespoke shirt in his wardrobe. And at a price guaranteed to be under $150, we can’t think of better bang for your buck. Below are some photos of some of the finer points of the shirts. And if you haven’t already seen it, don’t forget to check out the interview with Alex Yoo, head design tailor and founder of Alexander West here.
The shirt arrives in this translucent package with a note on Alexander West stationery describing details of the shirt, what to do if it does not fit properly (“we can make minor adjustments free of charge”) and instructions for care. The letter opens: “Enclosed, please find your first Alexander West shirt per your specific designs and the body measurements you provided. All shirts are individualized to your unique body contour and they are distinguished by their classic long tail design as well as their beautiful mother of pearl buttons.”
Notice how an intricate pattern is masterfully matched up on the shoulder seam.
It’s shocking how other garments in our wardrobes look so untailored by comparison to the Alexander West shirt.
A great bonus package: Alexander West’s signature stainless steel collar stays.
