Now we’re really getting into it as we enter the top 3 summer essentials. Starting our top 3 we have the Topman Boat Shoes. If you haven’t heard of Topman it’s probably because they’re brand new to America. A fashionable mainstay in the UK, Topman is known for offering solid clothing options without hitting your wallet hard. Topman opened its doors this April in SoHo, and have gotten tons of hype since. Although we think they get a little flamboyant with their clothing too often, we think that their real strength is with footwear. The best piece we found was their boat shoe. The boat shoe is both a summer essential and a preppy essential. But often times, it’s difficult to find an affordable alternative to the Sperry Topsider. Here’s where Topman comes in. Topman’s boat shoe comes in blue, navy, green, and yellow for a reasonable $90. We particularly like their brighter blue because it’ll liven you up a bit in the summer. You can either check out their new store in SoHo to pick up a pair, or grab them from their online store here.
Maybe the most traditionally preppy hangout on all of planet earth, East Hampton, is getting flooded with pop-up shops this summer. Over the last couple weeks, Brunello Cucinelli and Hermes have opened summer shops in East Hampton, and now Crooks Brothers favorite, Steven Alan, is doing the same. The shop, called Bazaar, will be a great place to pick up summer plaids and lightweight shirts when you’re taking a break from the beach. But also make sure to check it out, as it looks as if they are pushing a lot of other brands besides their own, which excites us on account of their good taste.
As we have previously said, a prepster should be well schooled in the art of drinking. There are many components to this besides the ability to drink a lot. A prepster should know where to drink, and what to drink. Most importantly a prepster should know why and how to drink depending on circumstance. this can get very convoluted, but Esquire has helped to solve this. Esquire has released an online Bible of Drinking that tells a prepster everything he needs to know about alcohol, whether it be the best drinks, the best bars, or the best way to furnish your home bar. Check out The Esquire Bible of Drinking here.

A couple of days ago we gave you an article on Kanye’s collaboration with Louis Vuitton, today we want to show you the finished products. Everyone’s seen the boat sneaker that he put out a couple months ago, but this June the rest of the line will be hitting stores. We’re not giving an endorsement of Kanye’s gear, but we do admire his hard work and creativity. Check out the rest of the line here.
