Maybe it’s the holidays, but we’ve been thinking a lot about who inspires us not just with style, but with how we live our lives. So today, we’re going to give you a couple of posts that give you an idea of who we look up to. We hope you enjoy your holidays…
“I would rather wake up in the middle of nowhere than in any city on earth.” -Steve McQueen
We recently got our hands on The Sartorialist’s new book. We are adamant followers of his blog as it is a really good pick-me-up to remind us why exactly we care about clothes, as they seem so superficial at times. It’s something that you can follow or just occasionally pop in on and you’ll be happy you did it. There are a few guys kicking around doing the street shots of stylish people, but none really have the eye that Mr. Schuman does.
Band of Outsiders always produces great lookbooks and photoshoots. They’ve given a really good representation of the brand and the lifestyle it’s meant for, which is really what a lookbook is all about. They pulled in their muse Jason Schwartzman for the photoshoot. First of all, Schwartzman rules and is absolutely one of the most stylish guys out there. This is one of the best partnerings that we could imagine, so we feel obliged to put this as one of our lookbooks of the year. Some of the pieces from the collection are already available at Opening Ceremony and you can check their photoshoot here. There are a ton of photos, but we’re giving you all of them not just for the clothing but for the humor. Well done BoO…
The late ’50s early ’60s have been on fire recently and we’re loving it. We’ve spent some time going through the archives of GQ and Esquire checking out the styles of the time and we just get more and more interested. So when we saw the new ad campaign for Stella Artois, we instantly loved it. They got Robert McGinnis, who designed the old posters for Breakfast at Tiffany’s, to do some work and the results are pretty awesome. Check out all the of the pictures below and marvel at how gorgeous they are. Props to Stella.
