We’ve been using Reiss in our Piece by Piece’s for a little while now and we figured it was about time we really gave you the heads up. David Reiss starting his label in 1971 selling modern tailored goods. 38 years later, Reiss is the modern man’s best kept secret. They focus on modern stylings with slim proportions, which is exactly what we’re all about. They have a very European look, but it’s very refined so that you won’t look like you’re trying too hard. We’re particularly high on their suits and dress shirts which are very bold in just the right way. Think a hipster’s Tom Ford at a Hickey price tag. The suits have sweeping peak lapels and the shirts have slim proportions with spread and cutaway collars. What were really impressed with is the materials they use. When we saw online that they had a cashmere blend three-piece suit for $800 we were very suspect, but when we saw them in person we were really taken with them.
They have some very respectable knits and very solid scarves, gloves, and bags. Our favorite pieces are their peak lapel tuxedo, double-breasted suit, bold check formal shirt, lambswool/cashmere sweaters, and wool leather holdall bag. Check our store profile of Reiss’ New York spot.
