WWD Reported today that Spurr will be splitting into two labels, Spurr and Simon Spurr. Simon Spurr will carry the designers luxury tailoring, leather, and knits whereas Spurr will house the jeans and sportswear. The split will be effective Fall 2010.
If this means absolutely nothing to you right now, that’s because Spurr is still relatively small — for now. If there’s someone to watch in the world of menswear, it’s Spurr. Designer Simon Spurr honed his skills at Ralph Lauren and he added the Bergdorf Goodman Fashion Director to his team in September. We’re ready for the brand to absolutely take off Tom Ford style, but we’ll have to wait and see. For now, keep an eye out for Mr. Spurr.
