When we first got wind from GQ about Brooks Brothers’ Extra Slim Fit shirts (they cut two inches off the chest), we were skeptical if this super American company could pull off a look that is, simply put, not what they’re known for. But Brooks Brothers did it, and they did it right. We’re not thrilled with the designs thus far — the sport shirts stick to contrast collar, and the dress shirts only come as a striped Classic Cotton button-collar shirt so far — but the sporty fit is definitely a great move for a company whose shirts have always been plagued by the proverbial stomach poof. They fit well, and the sleeves are proportioned appropriately. We’re banking on some new designs in the near future. And at only $80 (3 for $199), Brooks Bros is keeping us happy.
