If there’s one company we’re trusting right now with bow ties, it’s David Hart (see our interview with him here). Mr. Hart himself pointed us to one of his newest pieces, and we completely love it. This guy features a black background ever so slightly speckled with golden thread. You then see a hilarious and intricate pattern of multicolored boxers and some bras sitting on clotheslines. The silhouette of this piece is narrow and sleek, ultimately defined by a diamond point executed par excellence. Pop this piece on with a simple white oxford, a black shirt, a tweed sport coat — anything flies with it. It’s casual and fun to wear, and yet, as a tie, it can be on the less casual side, as well.
Mr. Hart is cooking up some serious pieces lately — great tongue-in-cheek designs inspired by the classic 1950s and 1960s look — and this new piece for the Fall ’09 collection (not yet on his site or on Bergdorf’s) has got us revved up. Check out his collection at Bergdorf or on his own site, DavidHartNYC.com.
