The famous outdoor brand is getting a makeover. L.L. Bean is one of the brands most recognizable by those in the preppy community, but people for some reason don’t realize it. The catalogues reach far and wide and the 24 hour store in Maine is an institution. But they’ve been offering a lot of the same for the last couple years. Well, Rogues Gallery designer Alex Carleton is changing that. He will be the Creative Director behind L.L. Bean Signature which will include tailored goods and an overall slimmer profile. We think this is the perfect pick as Rogues Gallery is already similar to a high-end L.L. Bean. The one bad thing is that Rogues Gallery can get expensive, especially with shoes, and they also get carried away with design. Designing for L.L. Bean means he’ll be sticking to the legacy, more updating designs than reinventing the wheel. And apparently the new line won’t be too expensive with shirts from $50-$70 and jackets around $200. The line will be released in March 2010, get excited. To read the full coverage on the move read the article here.
